Ride for Exuma is a charity bike ride that supports The Exuma Foundation, a not-for-profit that is focused on enhancing the lives of community members. The foundation invests in education, facilities, and infrastructure for families and communities on Exuma. The profits from the bike ride will go towards helping build a much-needed children shelter in Georgetown.
The Ride
The bike ride begins in Georgetown, the capital of Exuma. The route will take participants to the end of Little Exuma Island and then back. Riders get to enjoy the gorgeous local scenery, taking in the stunning sea as they bike. Participants will be cheered on with rest stops along the way. After the ride wraps up a BBQ with live music will close off the celebration.
For those that want to participate but aren’t hardcore bikers, there will be a shorter community ride to accompany the event. Families and friends can join in the fun on the shorter ride and later cheer on those who choose to bike the whole route.
Other Info
There are two rider types, a VIP Rider and a Rally Rider. VIP Rider’s must have a $2,500 USD minimum donation while Rally Riders will have a $500 USD minimum donation. You can learn more about the different donations here.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes for the event. If you are unable to, free bike rentals can be arranged. Quantities are limited on the island so be sure to notify the organizers ahead of time to reserve a bike.
