The Exumas are beautiful-white sand, crystal clear blue water. What’s not to love about it? Celebrities certainly do. Exuma is the secret celebrity hideaway in the Bahamas.

Exuma is made up of 365 cays, many privately owned by big name celebrities. So who calls Exuma home? Here are a few of the biggest named celebrities that own private islands in Exuma.

JOHNNY DEPP

A-list actor Johnny Depp owns a 45-acre tropical island in Exuma called Little Hall’s Pond Cay. He credits Marlon Brando for teaching him how to buy an island. Depp apparently fell in love with Exuma after filming scenes for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise there.


TYLER PERRY

Director Tyler Perry owns White Bay Cay in Exuma. He even took pilot lessons so that he could fly his own private plane to the island. Makes sense- nothing goes better with a private island than a private plane!

FAITH HILL & TIM MCGRAW

These two are country music legends. They purchased their very own islands in Exuma for a few million, called Goat Cay. They use their island as a way to retreat from their busy lives and relax.

DAVID COPPERFIELD

David Copperfield is one of the world’s top magicians. In 2006 he worked his magic and purchased the island of Musha Cay where a magnificent home was already built. Rumor is the Fountain of Youth is in his backyard. You can rent out the house on Musha Cay for close to $37,000 and check it out yourself!


JOHN TRAVOLTA

John Travolta has been a big name in Hollywood since his early hits like Grease and Pulp Fiction. He takes time off on his own private island in Exuma. Not only does it have a beautiful home, but it’s also big enough to house is own private Boeing 707 that he flies.

SIR RICHARD BRANSON

Billionaire Virgin founder Richard Branson owns multiple islands in the Caribbean, including one in Exuma. He owns the 74-acre Necker Cay that he purchases over 30 years ago. Legends such as Robert Di Niro, Steven Spielberg, and even the late Princess Diana have all stayed there.

EDDIE MURPHY

Funnyman Eddie Murphy is lucky enough to own his very own piece of Exuma. He is the proud owner of Rooster Cay, which he purchased in 2007 for $15 million. There’s nothing funny about that price!

NICHOLAS CAGE

Nicholas Cage is Hollywood royalty. He likes to get away from it all on his privately owned island in Exuma that he purchased in 2006 for $3 million. It’s recently been put up for sale so who knows how long we’ll see him around here for!
