If you’re looking to escape the cold Canadian winters, you’re in luck! Air Canada recently announced they’re launching new non-stop flights to Exuma, The Bahamas this winter, just in time for a holiday escape!

Air Canada Vacations will be operating non-stop flights from Toronto to George Town, Exuma once weekly on Sundays. The services are set to begin on December 19th. The flights will operate through April 17th, 2022 according to Bahamas tourism officials.

“We are excited to welcome new and returning Canadian visitors who want to escape the winter weather, to visit and enjoy the beautiful Out Island of Exuma,” said Bahamas Tourism Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper. “Air Canada Vacation’s direct flight from Toronto Pearson to George Town not only benefits travellers but also the local community on Exuma.”

Air Canada is also set to relaunch daily flights from Toronto to Nassau on November 8th. This is in addition to weekend flights between Montreal and Nassau beginning in December.

“As the demand for leisure travel continues to grow, we’re ready to advance the recovery of our industry by meeting the needs of travelers from all walks of life,” said Nino Montagnese, Vice President of Air Canada Vacations. “We want to entice Canadians to dream of relaxation, adventure and sunnier days ahead.  Exuma provides the perfect breathtaking backdrop for those dreams.”

This is great news for Canadians as Canada suspended airline services to all Caribbean nationals until April. They only recently loosened border restrictions for travelers, which have been in place since the COVID-19 pandemic.
