Check Weather
Exuma is a tropical paradise that is mostly hot and sunny. However, tropical islands are also known to get sudden heavy rain and strong winds. The sun can also get quite hot, so be sure to check the weather before you go to make sure you’re planning appropriate activities and bring the right clothing. Also, be aware that hurricane season is from June to November in the Bahamas so you may want to avoid traveling then or at least be prepared for storms.
Get Ready to Eat
Food is an important part of Bahamian culture, so get ready to eat! Exuma has tons of amazing local restaurants and local cuisines, such as fish fry and conch. You even have the option of fishing for your own food that certain places will cook up for you!
Bring Necessities
When packing, be sure that you bring along everything you think you’ll need, from sunscreen to medication. Exuma is a small island, so while there are places to buy things such as sunscreen, it can be quite pricey. Exuma also doesn’t have a hospital on the islands, so if you run out of medications or need help you’ll have to be transported to the main island.
